Tamil is a Dravidian language spoken primarily in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu and the Union Territory of Puducherry. It is also spoken in parts of Sri Lanka, Singapore, Malaysia, and other countries with significant Tamil diaspora communities. With over 80 million speakers worldwide, Tamil is one of the oldest classical languages and has a rich literary tradition dating back over two millennia.
