Slovak is a West Slavic language spoken primarily in Slovakia, where it is the official language. It is also spoken by Slovak minorities in neighboring countries and by expatriate communities around the world. Slovak is closely related to Czech and is mutually intelligible with it to a significant extent. It uses the Latin script with some diacritics to represent specific sounds.
